Introductory Note
Stevia rebaudiana is establishing as promising crop in India but still not much information about
its improved farming is available. Farmers are cultivating it as per their traditional crop growing
knowledge or using literatures given in Internet. It is bare fact that not much work has been done
on different aspects of Stevia cultivation in India. With the help of innovative Stevia growers I
got opportunities to conduct series of experiments on Stevia using hundreds of herbs and herbal
solutions. Ecofriendly pest management, improved crop growth to production of medicinally rich
Stevia were the targets.
The present series is an effort to give preliminary information about these Agronomical
experiments. Let’s hope that this information will encourage the researchers as well as farmers
around the world to use these promising Herbal Solutions for Stevia production.
